Task Title: Registration Assistant

Description: Built an AI-powered Registration Assistant that helps students with course/internship registration. The chatbot collects student details like name, email, program, and experience level, validates each input, checks eligibility, and confirms registration.

Domain Summary: This project falls under AI & Data Science with a focus on Natural Language Processing and Conversational AI. The goal was to automate the student registration process and make it more interactive, accurate, and user-friendly using a chatbot interface.

NLTK & spaCy - For Natural Language Processing and text understanding

scikit-learn - To train the intent classification model

ChatterBot - Chatbot framework for conversation

flowFlask - For building the web interfaceHTML/CSS - For frontend design

How I Completed This Task:

1.Understood the requirements and planned the chatbot workflow.

2.Designed conversation logic to collect: Name, Email, Program, Experience Level.

3.Implemented input validation and eligibility checks for each field Used NLTK and spaCy for processing user queries and extracting information.

4.Trained an intent classification model using scikit-learn.

5.Integrated ChatterBot for managing chatbot responses.

6.Built a Flask-based web interface to make the assistant accessible on localhost.

7.Tested the application end-to-end and handled debugging for ∼900 lines of code

Outcome

The task was completed successfully with all requirements met.

The Registration Assistant can now interact with students, collect and validate registration details, and provide confirmation.

This project strengthened my skills in Python, NLP, chatbot development, Flask, and debugging large codebases. It gave me practical experience in building an end-to-end AI application.
